Open Access and Licensing
Open Access
The Canadian Journal of Architecture is a fully open access journal. All articles are available to read, download and share immediately on publication, without paywall, embargo, registration or any other barrier.
The journal charges no submission fee and no article processing charge. Publication costs are borne by the publisher, Northline Academic Publishing Services Inc.
Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their work without restriction. Authors grant the journal the right of first publication.
Licence
All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). This permits anyone to copy, redistribute, adapt and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercially, provided the original authors and source are credited and any changes are indicated.
Third-party material reproduced in an article — including drawings, photographs and archival documents — remains under its original copyright and is not covered by the CC BY licence unless the credit line states otherwise.
Author Self-Archiving
Authors may deposit any version of their article — submitted, accepted or published — in an institutional or subject repository, or post it on a personal or departmental site, at any time and without embargo. The journal asks that the published version include a link to the article on this site.
Funding and Advertising
The journal’s costs are borne entirely by its publisher, Northline Academic Publishing Services Inc. The journal does not carry advertising, does not accept sponsored content, and receives no payment from authors or readers. No revenue consideration plays any part in editorial decisions.
